GARRETT CROSS // WOLF
Tactical Commander | Former Navy SEAL
Read Garrett’s story, Shadow Hunt, today!
POSITION
Tactical Commander, Shadow Point Security
BACKGROUND
Former Navy SEAL commander
SPECIALTIES
Tactical command
Threat assessment
Predator tracking
Protective operations
Field strategy
Making plans other people would probably prefer not to hear about
KNOWN FOR
Thinking like the person he’s hunting.
Garrett doesn’t wait for a predator to make the next move if he can identify it first. He studies patterns, anticipates behavior, and approaches an operation with the same patience that earned him his call sign. When a case turns dangerous, Wolf is usually the man deciding where everyone else needs to be.
PERSONAL INTEL
Garrett came to Shadow Point after leaving the Navy under less-than-ideal circumstances and retreating to Montana. Dr. Genevieve “Vivi” Montgomery recruited him as the new unit’s first tactical commander because she needed someone capable of operating in the gray areas where traditional law enforcement sometimes couldn’t.
Garrett initially considered the job temporary.
The team had other ideas.
His protective instincts run deep, his standards are brutal—especially for himself—and he has a long history of believing every life he couldn’t save belongs on his personal balance sheet.
He’s working on that.
Slowly.
VERY slowly.
TEAM ASSESSMENT
If Wolf says there’s a threat, listen.
If Wolf says he has a plan, prepare to follow it.
If Wolf says he’s fine, further investigation is recommended.
FEATURED OPERATION

ROMANTIC INTEREST
FBI Special Agent Claire Dawson
FILE NOTE
Wolf’s job is hunting predators.
Unfortunately for predators, he’s very good at it.
MACK CALLAN// HAWK
Team Leader/Former Marine Sniper
Read Mack’s story, Shadow Target, here!
BACKGROUND
Former Marine Scout Sniper
SPECIALTIES
Long-range precision
Surveillance and overwatch
Threat assessment
Protective operations
Tactical planning
Remaining awake while everyone else sleeps
KNOWN FOR
Keeping watch.
Mack is the man who knows the exits before anyone else realizes they should be looking for them. Years as a Marine Scout Sniper trained him to observe, calculate, wait, and act only when the moment is right.
Unfortunately, those habits apply to his personal life too.
PERSONAL INTEL
Mack came to Shadow Point carrying the aftermath of a military operation that destroyed his career and left him with a badly scarred left hand.
The official record said one thing.
Mack knew the truth.
His former spotter, Blake Bennett, had made decisions that got people killed and then allowed Mack to take the fall. The fallout cost Mack his military career—and the woman he planned to marry.
He rebuilt his life at SPS one operation at a time.
Mack is controlled, intensely observant, protective, and far better at demonstrating what he feels than explaining it. He doesn’t waste words, doesn’t abandon his post, and has a strong tendency to treat sleep as optional when someone he cares about is in danger.
PERSONAL EFFECTS
Two engraved quarters.
Given to him before his first deployment by Alyssa Bennett, the woman who later became his ex-fiancée.
He kept them.
Of course he did.
TEAM ASSESSMENT
If Hawk tells you to stay put, stay put. If Hawk says he’ll keep watch, go to sleep. He won’t.

CLIVE “CB” BRIGGS//GRIZZLY Field Operative
Read CB’s book, Shadow Strike, today!
BACKGROUND
Former Army Ranger
Surveillance and intelligence specialist
SPECIALTIES
Surveillance
Intelligence gathering
Protective operations
Field assessment
Reading a room before anyone realizes he’s doing it
Making nervous clients feel safe
KNOWN FOR
Being very difficult to overlook.
Grizzly earned his call sign because of his size.
The personality is considerably friendlier.
Usually.
CB can walk into a room, identify the exits, assess every person in it, notice the suspicious vehicle across the road—and somehow still be the guy making everyone laugh five minutes later.
PERSONAL INTEL
Clive Briggs was born into the Canon Outlaws motorcycle gang.
He wasn’t merely adjacent to the organization. He was supposed to inherit it.
His father, Wade Briggs, led the Outlaws, and CB was once considered the family’s golden boy—the next man in line. Instead, at eighteen, he walked away and joined the Army.
He became a Ranger.
Years later, he returned to Blackridge after his father suffered a stroke, but he never returned to the Outlaws.
Shadow Point became his family instead.
CB is big, warm, observant, relentlessly loyal, and unusually good with frightened people. He understands intimidation because he grew up surrounded by it. That may be why he takes the responsibility of making someone feel safe so seriously.
He also possesses an alarming willingness to talk during meals.
PERSONAL INTEL // VISUAL ID
Large enough to make the Grizzly designation unnecessary but inevitable.
Tousled brown hair. Emerald-green eyes inherited from his mother, Mary.
Easy smile also inherited from his mother.
TEAM ASSESSMENT
Grizzly will make you laugh.
Grizzly will make you feel safe.
Grizzly may also eat whatever you left unattended in the SPS kitchen.
No formal investigation has been opened.

FILE NOTE

SEBASTIAN WHITAKER// LYNX Protective Operations Specialist
Read Sebastian’s story, Shadow Secrets, today!
BACKGROUND
Former United States Secret Service Agent
SPECIALTIES
Close protection
Threat assessment
Protective intelligence
Route and escape planning
Weapons
Operational security
Putting himself between danger and everyone else
KNOWN FOR
Always facing the exit.
Sebastian spent years protecting other people for the Secret Service, and some habits never left. His vehicle faces the road. He knows alternate routes.
His threat radar never completely shuts off. And he has a go-bag ready before most people have found their shoes.
CALL SIGN INTEL
Lynx was given to Sebastian by the SPS team. It was also one of the first things about his new life that felt like it belonged to him.
PERSONAL INTEL
Six years before joining Shadow Point Security, Sebastian became nationally famous for saving sixteen-year-old Ginger Galbraith, daughter of a former vice president, during an assassination attempt.
He took a bullet protecting her. Then he shot and killed her attacker. The country made Sebastian a hero. Sebastian wanted none of it.
He turned down the attention that followed and eventually left the Secret Service, moving to Montana for the anonymity. Shadow Point gave him a way to keep doing the work he loved without becoming the story himself.
He is quiet, disciplined, deeply private, and uncomfortable when he isn’t useful. Give Sebastian eleven straight days of operational work and he’ll ask what assignment is next.
Tell him to take an afternoon off and you may cause a system error.
PERSONAL INTEL // OFF DUTY
Sketches, apparently rather well. His first planned tattoo was a geometric lynx design he drew himself.
What began as a symbol of his SPS identity eventually became something much more personal.
FAMILY INTEL
Sister: Charlotte
Mother: Eleanor Whitaker
Current classification of the people Sebastian considers family has expanded considerably since arriving in Montana.
He appears to be handling this development.
TEAM ASSESSMENT
Lynx is excellent at disappearing into the background. This becomes considerably harder once CB decides he needs to “be a human person for twenty minutes.”
FEATURED OPERATION

ROMANTIC INTEREST
Sutton Crenshaw
FILE NOTE
He spent years believing the worst thirty seconds of his life defined him.
Shadow Point taught him otherwise.
JASPER PERAULT//Technical Specialist Intelligence Support
Read Jasper’s story, Shadow Burn, today!
BACKGROUND
Former SEAL
Technical and security specialist
SPECIALTIES
Digital investigation
Open-source intelligence
Database research
Electronic surveillance
Cybersecurity
Pattern analysis
Finding people who don’t want to be found
Discovering things everyone else was happier not knowing
KNOWN FOR
Finding things.
Jasper sits at a desk. This should not be confused with being harmless. Give him three monitors, sufficient access, and enough time, and Jasper can construct a digital picture of a person, organization, operation, or conspiracy with unnerving precision.
He prefers it that way.
PERSONAL INTEL
Jasper came to Shadow Point wanting a quiet job behind a screen. He made his boundaries clear: internal support, no client-facing assignments, no fieldwork. The team respected that.
Mostly.
Then Katherine Townsend arrived with several notebooks, a dead CIA officer who appeared to still be operational, and an institutional mystery interesting enough to override Jasper’s self-preservation instincts.
It turned out that his skill set wasn’t limited to technology.
Jasper notices systems. Patterns. Logic. The bones underneath information.
He can look at an archivist’s handwritten notation system for less than a minute and understand the philosophy behind ten years of work.
This is either impressive or deeply annoying depending upon whether he’s doing it to you.
PERSONAL HABITS
Runs frequently. Especially when thinking becomes inconvenient.
Drinks coffee black.
Works long past the point when normal people would stop.
Has an office containing three monitors, server fans, headphones, and approximately the correct amount of human interaction for his preferences.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Jasper’s father, Ryan Perault, disappeared from his life under circumstances surrounded by secrecy.
His mother’s death remains a source of grief, and her love of books and ability to read the stories beneath the words shaped him more than he usually admits.
That unresolved history is one reason Jasper recognizes institutional secrecy when he sees it.
TEAM ASSESSMENT
If Jasper says he found something, you probably wanted him to.
If Jasper says, “That’s interesting,” you probably didn’t.
FEATURED OPERATION
Shadow Burn
ROMANTIC INTEREST
Katherine Townsend
ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL NOTE
Priss Townsend, gray tabby and self-appointed head of personnel screening, approved Jasper almost immediately.
Katherine questioned Priss’s judgment. Priss was correct. He’d rather hack the problem than shoot it.
He can do both.
REID FLEMING//EAGLE Legal Specialist / Field Operative
Read Reid’s story, Shadow Justice, today!
BACKGROUND
Former Navy JAG officer
SPECIALTIES
Military and criminal law
Legal strategy
Research and investigation
Interrogation analysis
Protective operations
Seeing the loophole everyone else missed
KNOWN FOR
Remaining annoyingly reasonable while everyone around him is losing their minds.
Reid believes rules matter, especially when everything else is falling apart. His Navy career taught him how to build a case, challenge bad evidence, protect due process, and hold his ground in rooms where everyone believes they’re right.
Shadow Point occasionally requires him to operate farther into the gray than he prefers. He complains. Then he helps anyway.
CALL SIGN ORIGIN
“Eagle” began during Reid’s Navy career after he dismantled a sloppy disciplinary case. Someone called him a legal eagle, the nickname stuck, and Shadow Point eventually shortened it for operational use.
Reid privately treats the name as something more than a joke:
See clearly. Strike cleanly. Protect what matters.
PERSONAL INTEL
Reid grew up in Blackridge and is part of one of the town’s longtime families. His grandfather, Lincoln Fleming, is a retired judge, and his younger sister Roni has never met a situation she couldn’t improve by getting involved in it.
Or so Roni believes.
After years away, Reid’s return to Blackridge brought him back into the orbit of both his family and Holly Bristol, owner of Sanctuary Coffee—and the woman he’d never completely managed to leave in the past.
He is disciplined, analytical, patient, and very good at letting other people make their own decisions even when every protective instinct he possesses is screaming at him to interfere.
PERSONAL WEAKNESS
Holly Bristol.
Secondary weakness: Holly Bristol’s dog, Sweet Blue.
TEAM ASSESSMENT
If you need a legal answer, ask Eagle.
If you need someone to explain why Wolf’s proposed plan could result in several felonies, definitely ask Eagle.
If Wolf proceeds anyway, Eagle will probably already have a workaround.

FILE NOTE

HOPPER SHAW STATUS: ACTIVE FILE — ADDITIONAL INTEL PENDING
Read Hopper’s story, Shadow Threat, coming November 2026!
BACKGROUND
Former Marine EOD technician
CURRENT SPECIALTIES
Explosives and sabotage
Threat assessment
Protective operations
Carpentry and structural repair
Security reinforcement
Noticing when something has been disturbed
KNOWN FOR
Watching the exits.
Hopper first appeared around Blackridge as a big, quiet man who preferred sitting where he could see the door and leaving when a room became too crowded. His habit of watching people—and being connected to an old murder case involving his sister Emma—briefly made him look far more dangerous than he actually was.
What Shadow Point eventually found was a grieving former Marine who understood danger, knew how to stay calm around it, and had spent years trying to make broken things solid again.
These days, that often means wood, fences, barns, locks, and structures. People are more complicated. He’s learning.
PERSONAL INTEL
Hopper doesn’t talk simply because silence doesn’t bother him.
His EOD training made him methodical, observant, and exceptionally difficult to rattle. He notices changes other people overlook and instinctively thinks in terms of routes, vulnerabilities, structural weaknesses, and what might go wrong next. Woodworking gives him something danger never did: a problem that can be measured, repaired, braced, and made safe.
Shadow Point is gradually giving him something else. A team. He remains suspicious of this development.
TEAM ASSESSMENT
If Hopper tells you not to touch something, DO NOT TOUCH IT.
This instruction has reportedly been difficult for certain future clients to follow.
