Animal Reiki Certification Course Lesson 7 – Performing an Animal Reiki Session

Here are the steps to perform Animal Reiki:

Create a Safe Space:

Ensure the environment is quiet and stress-free.

Allow the animal to approach or move away as it feels comfortable.

Offer Energy, Don’t Force:

Sit near the animal with your palms open and relaxed.

Let the animal decide if they want to approach.

Place your hands lightly on their body if they show comfort with touch. Common areas include the shoulders, back, or paws.

Aura Scanning

Hold your hands a few inches away from the animal’s body.

Slowly move your hands, feeling for warm, cool, or dense areas in their energy field.

Focus Reiki energy on areas that feel imbalanced.

Visualization Exercise for Aura Repair

Purpose: To restore balance and repair disruptions in the animal’s energy field.

Preparation:

Center yourself with deep breaths.

Visualize golden light flowing through your hands.

Scan the Aura:

Move your hands 6–12 inches from the animal’s body.

Feel for any disturbances, like coolness, warmth, or uneven energy.

Energy Repair:

Hold your hands over the disrupted area.

Visualize the light filling the gaps and smoothing the energy field.

Imagine the animal’s aura becoming radiant and harmonious.

Closing:

Thank the animal for accepting the energy.

Ground yourself and release any residual energy from the session.

General Visualization:

Imagine the animal enveloped in golden light.

Visualize the energy flowing to areas in need of healing.

Focus on Intention:

Set an intention to provide healing energy for the animal’s highest good.

Use Reiki symbols (if attuned) to enhance the energy flow.

Observe and Respect:

Watch the animal’s body language for cues.

Stop or adjust if the animal shows discomfort.

For Distance Reiki:

Useful for animals who are nervous, aggressive, or unable to be physically present.

Focus on the animal’s name, image, or energy to send healing.

Use the Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen symbol to connect across distance.

Visualize the animal or use a photograph to focus.

Send healing energy with the intention of their highest good.

Trust in the energy’s ability to reach the animal, even without physical proximity.

*I personally envision a beautiful garden and invite the animal’s spirit to enter it and find a comfortable spot. Once I feel they’re settled, I begin the gentle work of sending Reiki to them.
