I look forward to Thanksgiving every year. Back in the day, we hosted family at our house and it meant days of cooking and cleaning, but I enjoyed the big day and the feast, with plenty of leftovers to send home with family members and still keeping us in extra meals through the weekend.
These days, our sons are grown and live several states away, and both my parents and in-laws have passed. I stay in my pjs and watch the parade while hubby puts a turkey breast in the Instant Pot and whips up some sides in the microwave. I’ve gone from cooking a huge, homemade dinner to enjoying a small, but still home-cooked meal. I enjoy both types of Thanksgiving, but eating, lounging in my pjs, drinking wine, and binge reading are a pretty nice way to celebrate.
